Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the Catronic on any pipe material? answer
The devices are suitable for all pipe materials: copper, iron, stainless steel, plastic and all compound pipes.
But do plastic pipes need a scale protection device at all? answer
Yes. Also plastic pipes are prone to calcifications, too. The smoother a surface is the longer it can resist the process of calcification. Once a first layer of scale has built up, however, the incrustation process proceeds just as fast as on any other surface.
How soft does my water get with the Catronic treatment? answer
The treatment does not change the overall water hardness. Unlike in chemical water treatment systems (e.g. water softener with salt) the water treated by Catronic does not loose any essential minerals, such as calcium and magnesium. The natural composition of the elements in the water remains the same. Due to a change of the surface tension it will feel remarkably softer on your skin. You are sure to feel this effect when taking a shower or even simply washing your hands.
How long does it take Catronic to remove existing deposits in the pipe? answer
Catronic removes the scale deposits slowly and without affecting the pipes. The sanitation process takes about the same time it took the incrustations to develop. A faster removal could be dislocating large incrustations and would inevitably block up the entire piping system.
Up to which degree of water hardness can Catronic be applied? answer
Catronic operates within a high performance frequency range and is the only unit with a patented 24 Volt Technology. It can thus be successfully applied to problems with a very high degree of water hardness.
How do I know that the Catronic operates efficiently? answer
Red pilot lights at the cable outputs indicate that the impulse generator is operating efficiently. In case these lights are not illuminated, please check the power supply voltage or contact your local distributor.
Which voltage range is the electronic power supply unit suitable for? answer
All Catronic power supply units are suitable for voltage ranges between 87 Volt – 260 Volt and 50 Hz – 60 Hz. It can therefore easily cater for all international power plugs. We are glad to supply you with the correct power supply unit in case of an international relocation.
What are the annual power costs of Catronic? answer
Catronic is completely maintenance-free and is saving the environment with very low power consumption. The cost of electric energy per year amounts to approximately 2 to 6 Euro (US$ 3 – US$ 7).

Catronic - Against Scale and Rust

This unit is an eco-friendly water treatment device that has to be installed in your piping system. The impulses will therefore have direct contact with the water and be more potent to fight scale and rust.
Catronic is the alternative to salt-based water softeners.
The Catronic series is available for pipe diameters ranging from 3/4" to 1 1/4". Larger unit sizes that will work for pipe diameters up to 4" are in planning and will be introduced consequently early this year.
